Rosena Louise Johnson, 80, died March 14, 2024, at Ascension Via Christi Saint Francis Hospital, Wichita, KS. She was born July 4, 1943, in Frontenac, KS, to William Richardson and Mary (Hefensouer) Richardson.

Rosena was a graduate of Frontenac High School, Frontenac, KS.  She earned an Associates Degree from Hutchinson Community College, Hutchinson, KS, and a Bachelors Degree from Hesston College, Hesston, KS. Rosena was employed in various area hospitals as a registered nurse.

On June 6, 1964, she married Douglas 'Gene' Eugene Johnson, in Frontenac, KS.  They shared over 51 years of marriage, prior to his death on August 16, 2015.

Rosena is survived by:  her sons, Dean (Karen) Johnson and Dwight (Katie) Johnson, both of Hutchinson, KS; grandsons, Jesse Johnson, Cale Johnson, and Coy Johnson; and sister, Gertrude (Jim) Melton.  She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Graveside service will be 1 p.m. Monday, March 18, 2024, at Eastside Cemetery, 500 S. Cleveland, Hutchinson, KS.  Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, and from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, at Elliott Mortuary.
