Obituary

Rowland Charlie Redinger, 87, died Dec. 27, 2005, at Hutchinson Hospital ICU.

He was born Aug. 27, 1918, in Halstead, the son of Fred August and Alice Wedel Redinger. A longtime resident of Hutchinson, he was a crane operator for Midwest Iron and Metal, Hutchinson, retiring after nearly 40 years service.

He belonged to First Christian Church, Hutchinson. He was a U.S. Army staff sergeant, stationed in Panama from 1942 to 1945.

On May 1, 1944, he married Nadine Norris in Hutchinson. She survives.

Other survivors include: two daughters, Loa Ann Gibson and Renee Retterer and husband, Rick, all of Hutchinson; a brother, Cecil and wife, Marianne, Hutchinson; a sister, Fay Dunn, Andover; two granddaughters, Shelly Allan and Lora Beaton, both of Hutchinson; five great-grandchildren, Ryan, Joshua and Kirsten Allan, Cody Beaton and K.J. Ryan, all of Hutchinson; and many nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Arthur; a sister, Darlene Unruh; and a niece, Laura Schrader.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Elliott Mortuary Chapel, Hutchinson, with the Rev. John Warring presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday at the mortuary. Burial will be in Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson.
