Roy Edward Borecky, Sr., 83, died Aug. 14, 2006 at Hutchinson Hospital.
He was born July 5, 1923 in Burdett, the son of Edward and Rachel Heinze Borecky. A resident of Hutchinson since 1969, moving from Burdett. He was owner or A&B Motors, retiring in 1999. He also owned several restaurants in Burdett.
He was a member of Veteran of Foreign Wars Bob Campbell Post No. 1361. He was a World War II Army veteran, serving from 1941 to 1944.
On May 5, 1944, he married Vivian L. Simpson Green. She died Sept. 21, 1998.
Survivors include: a son, Eddy, Hutchinson; two daughters, Royce Elaine Frantz, Carrollton, Texas and Delores L. Yarbrough, Hutchinson; a step son, W. L. Green, Jr., Nickerson; a sister, Rachel E. Smith, Wichita; 10 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Ronnie; two granddaughters and a great grandson.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Elliott Mortuary Chapel, Hutchinson, with Pastor Keith Dellenbach presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday at the mortuary. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson, with military graveside rites conducted by Fort Riley Honor Guard.
