Roy L. Goans, 72, of Hutchinson, died December 6, 2020, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. He was born October 15, 1948, in Pontiac, Michigan, to Katherine (Loreg) Collins.

Roy graduated from Newton High School in 1966, Millright Trade School in 1968, and Maintenance Trade School in 1969. He served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. Roy worked maintenance at Hutchinson Clinic and Halstead Hospital and was the lead salesman for Independent Electric. His hobbies included driving a fast Corvette, watching the Chiefs, collecting guns and knives, and camping at the lake.

On September 28, 1972, Roy married Susan Elizabeth Mortimer in Pontiac, Michigan. They shared 48 years of marriage together.

Roy is survived by: wife, Susan Goans, Hutchinson; daughter, Crystal Howard, Sterling; son, Walter Goans (Bonnie), Lyons; son, Lonnie Goans (Tara), Buhler; and six grandchildren, Dalton, Chris, Colton, Allison, Ty, and Tristian.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Katherine Collins and granddaughter, Tayllor Paige Goans.

A private family service will be at Elliott Mortuary. Burial will follow in Fairlawn Burial Park. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, December 9, 2020, at Elliott Mortuary.
