Roy E. "Leroy" Beach, 92, died Sept. 30, 2009, at the Golden Plains Health Care Center, Hutchinson. He was born Aug. 20, 1917, in Terry, Mont., the son of Homer and Frances Wright Beach.

He was a carpenter for Foy Construction for 50 years. He was a member of the Berean Baptist Church, Hutchinson. His favorite hobby was roping and horseback riding. He built the home he lived in.

On Jan. 7, 1942, he married Bonnie M. Lemen in Hutchinson. She died Nov. 29, 1997. On Oct. 7, 2000, he married Erma Maxine Cellers in Hutchinson. She survives.

Other survivors include: sons, Jarold Beach and wife, Jackie, Columbus, Neb., Ronnie Beach, and wife, Sharon, Hutchinson, and David Cellers, and wife Rona, Hutchinson; daughters, Annette Glasscock, Rifle, Colo.; eight grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 2, 2009, at the Berean Baptist Church, 1620 Center, Hutchinson, with Pastor Roger Neir presiding. Friends may call 1 to 9 p.m. today at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Burial will be in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum, Hutchinson.
