Roy Daniel Oden, 98, died Oct. 22, 2013, at Hester Care Center. He was born July 26, 1915, in Lyons, to Rolland Daniel and Mammie Agnes (Brown) Oden.
On April 21, 1935, he married Genevieve May Asling in Hutchinson.
Roy retired from Consolidated Manufacturing in 1980, after 35 years as a machinist. He was a member of Mitchell United Methodist Chapel in Hutchinson.
Survivors include: son, Larry Oden and wife Terry of Hutchinson; six grandchildren, Debra Lundry of Hutchinson, Linda Porter of Hutchinson, Sonya Bell of Oklahoma City, Charles Bell of Hutchinson, Mia Wilson and husband Billy of South Hutchinson, Tricia Radke of Hutchinson; 10 great-grandchildren and three great great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 77 years, Genevieve Oden on May 8, 2012; daughter, Kathryn Bell; brother, Amos Oden; four sisters, Mary Waggoner, Verna Hedges, Lulua Porter, and Hattie Elliott.
Funeral service will be 1:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 25, 2013, at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, with Pastors Amy Foster and Teresa Wynn officiating. Burial will be in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum, Hutchinson. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. to service time Friday at Elliott Mortuary.
