Ruben M. Murillo, 73, died Jan. 20, 2010, at Promise Regional Medical Center, Hutchinson.

He was born Nov. 12, 1936, in Hanover, N.M., to Baldomero M. "B.M." and Adela Monje Murillo.

A resident of Hutchinson since 1957, he was with Hartman's Manufacturing for 18 years before its closing. He spent 20 years as a warehouseman for Dillons Warehouse, retiring 11 years ago.

He belonged to Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, the American GI Forum, Teamsters Union, V.F.W., and was very active in the church. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.

On June 15, 1957, he married Teresa B. Reyes in Hurley, N.M. She survives. Other survivors include: three sons, Ruben, Jr., Henderson, Nev., Robert, and David and wife Dreda, all of Hutchinson; a daughter, Adella Luna, Hutchinson; a sister, Alice Viegra and husband Frank, Hutchinson; five grandchildren, Tony Delgado, Lisa Chapman, Salvador Luna, Emily Murillo and Nicholas Murillo; six great-grandchildren; numerous nephews and nieces; and dear family friend, Tim Ward, Hutchinson. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Parish rosary will be at 6 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 24, 2010, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, South Hutchinson, with Father Nicholas Voelker presiding. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday Jan. 25, 2010, at the church, with Father Brian Nelson presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Burial will be in Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson.
