SOUTH HUTCHINSON - Ruby E. Farthing, 91, died May 21, 2008, at Wheaton House at Mennonite Manor, South Hutchinson.
She was born Nov. 11, 1916, in rural Partridge, Kansas, the daughter of Odus Grant and Flora Ann Brooks Hill. She attended rural Partridge Schools. A resident of South Hutchinson, she was a teller and bookkeeper at Central Kansas Credit Union.
She belonged to Tenth Avenue United Methodist Church, Hutchinson.
On Sept. 1, 1935, she married Stanley M. Farthing in Hutchinson. He died Dec. 7, 1979.
Survivors include: a brother, Frank Hill, South Hutchinson; and a sister, Edna Vedder, Hutchinson. She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and five sisters.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson, with Pastor Alan D. Stambaugh presiding. Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. Sunday and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Burial will be in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum.
Memorials may be sent to Hospice of Reno County in care of the mortuary.
