Ruby I. Hynes' Obituary
Ruby I. Hynes, 97, died Feb. 22, 2012, at Good Samaritan Center, Hutchinson. She was born Feb. 17, 1915, in Arlington, to Louis Melvin and Dessie Irene (Heller) Dunn.
A 1933 graduate of Arlington High School, she was a homemaker. Ruby was a member of Arlington United Methodist Church.
On Sept. 3, 1938, she married Phillip Glen Hynes in Abilene. He died Nov. 15, 1997.
She is survived by her daughter, Lynnette Downs of Annandale, Va. Ruby was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Mel Downs; grandson, Tim Downs; brothers, Jasper and Russel Dunn; and sister, Esther Walker.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 25, 2012, at Elliott Chapel, with Pastor James Dunn officiating. Burial will be in the Arlington Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, with the family to receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice Care of Kansas or Arlington United Methodist Church, in care of the mortuary.
