Ruby Evelyn Thomas, 94, passed away March 6, 2016, in Edmond, Okla. She was born June 15, 1921, in Arnett, Okla., to Edgar and Veva (Walck) Tyrrell.
Ruby lived in Hutchinson most of her life. She was active in the Loyal Order of Moose #982 and enjoyed music as well as playing the piano and writing poetry.
She married Wilber Thomas on June 1, 1946. They were married 49 years. They enjoyed boating, camping, dancing and playing cards. Throughout their lives, they enjoyed the company of many good friends.
Survivors include: daughters, Deloris Ammon (John), St. Louis, Mo., Pamela Cunningham (Guy), Bloomington, Ind., Michelle Royse (Dave), Wichita; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and a son, Eugene Thomas.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, March 25, 2016, at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, with Pastor Gary Getting presiding. Burial will be in Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. today and Thursday at Elliott Mortuary.
