Rudolph "Stanley" Unruh, 89, died Feb. 18, 2011, at Mennonite Manor, South Hutchinson.
He was born Jan. 15, 1922, the son of David Herbert and Esther Koehn Unruh.
He was a World War II veteran, serving as a private, in the U.S. Army Air Corp. from 1942-43. He was a master molder working at Hartman's Foundry.
On Dec. 24, 1944, he married Darlene Dixie Redinger in Hutchinson. She died April 16, 1988.
Survivors include: three children, Richard Unruh and Alice Unruh of Hutchinson, and Janet Adams, Wichita; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Esther Lewis, his father and two brothers.
Graveside service will be 11:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 21, 2011, at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum, Hutchinson, with Chaplain Randall Turner presiding. Friends may call 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday with family to receive friends 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday and 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at Elliott Mortuary. Military graveside honors will be conducted by Fort Riley Honor Guard.
