Russ T. "Gramps" Templeton, 92, died Aug. 20, 2007, at Good Samaritan Center, Hutchinson.
He was born Oct. 16, 1914, in Webb City, Mo., the son of Tommy T. and Linnie Mae Creech Templeton. He was a longtime Hutchinson resident. He was the owner and operator of Templeton Service Stations. He also served as the mayor of South Hutchinson and was South Hutchinson's first fire chief.
He belonged to the Trinity United Methodist Church.
On Feb. 3, 1934, he married Reba E. Lakin in Medicine Lodge. She died July 21, 1992.
Survivors include: a son, Sky Templeton, Hutchinson; a daughter EmyLu Gantz, Hutchinson; six grandchildren, Tori Gantz Regier, Rayne Templeton, Slade Templeton, Ken Graham, Ben Graham and Anna Graham Allen; and four great-grandchildren, Madison Graham, Gage Graham, Bryan Reiger and Grady Allen.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Friends may call between 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Penwell-Gabel's Cemetery and Mausoleum.
