Russell David "Russ" Borchert, 67, died March 16, 2015, at Prairie Sunset Home, Pretty Prairie. He was born March 20, 1947 in Hays, to Earnest and Vera (Hugley) Borchert.

He graduated from Plainville High School in 1965 and graduated from barber school in 1966. He worked in the USD 308 school district for many years as well as a barber and painter.

Russ married Patricia Cavenah in May of 1976. They later divorced. Survivors include: a son, Brian Borchert of Wichita; daughter, Adria Jackson and husband William of Blue Rapids, Kan.; grandchildren, Jillian Tobin, Rhys Jackson, and Jacob Jackson; sister, Lisa Nienhuser and husband David; nephew, Jeremy Nienhuser, all of Belton, Mo.; aunt, Veta Kretzer and husband Doug of Hutchinson; and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Memorial service will be held at a later date in Plainville, Kan.
