Russell “Russ” Wayne Schlatter, 91, of rural Inman, Kansas, passed away peacefully in his sleep Thursday, October 15, 2026. He was born August 24, 1935, to Clarence and Gwendolyn (Miller) Schlatter.

Russ graduated from Reno County High School. He spent his life working in oil fields, construction, farming and as a commodities broker before retiring. He enjoyed woodworking, welding, watching football and the stock market. His family was very important to him.

Russ married the love of his life, Nathalie Pedersen. She passed in 2018. They had sons Dan and Mike.

He is survived by his: sons, Dan (Susie) Schlatter of Wichita and Mike (Tanya Graber) Schlatter of Osage Beach, MO; grandchildren, Alicia (Rowdy) Glaser, Sylvia Ruzik, Erica (Will) Vernon and Leslie (Kelly) Scripsick; and numerous great-grands and 1 great-great grand.

Russ was preceded in death by his: parents, wife, and sister, Linda Johnson.

Celebration of Life will be Wednesday, October 21, 2026, at 10 am in the Elliott Mortuary chapel. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service. There will be a private family inurnment. The book may be signed Friday to the day of the service from 9 am to 5 pm.
