Ruth Anderson, 83, died June 5, 2014, at Dillon Living Center, Hutchinson. She was born Feb. 6, 1931, in Willow, Okla., the daughter of Herman and Elizabeth Lavona (McCoy) Fritts.
Ruth retired from Wesley Towers as the head cook. On June 7, 1947, she married Orval Patterson in Wheeler, Texas. He died Feb. 3, 1997. She then married Ivan Wilbur Anderson on Jan. 7, 2000, in Hutchinson. He survives. Other survivors include: children, Melba Bryant and husband Joe of Hutchinson, Lavona Craig and husband Walter of Partridge, Leon Patterson and wife Karen and Rick Patterson and wife Laura, all of Hutchinson; a sister, Verda Mae Adkerson of Elk City, Okla.; nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Orval Patterson; a daughter, Glenda Patterson; three brothers; and three sisters.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Monday, June 9, 2014, at Elliott Chapel with Reverend Jim Rhaesa presiding. Burial will be in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum, Hutchinson. Friends may sign the book from 1 to 9 p.m. Saturday and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday, with family to receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson.
