Ruth H. Birket's Obituary
Ruth H. Birket, 93, died Sept. 26, 2005, at Buhler Sunshine Home.
She was born May 15, 1912, in Hutchinson, the daughter of Herman and Hilda Oberg Hipp. She was a 1930 graduate of Hutchinson High School. A lifetime Reno County resident, living in the Abbyville Community and then Hutchinson for most of her life, she was a homemaker.
She belonged to Crossroads Christian Church, Hutchinson.
On Aug. 13, 1949, she married Howard George Birket in Hutchinson. He died Jan. 16, 1991.
Survivors include: a son, Sam and wife, Mary, McPherson; two daughters, Marlene Stewart and husband, Leland, Warrensburg, Mo., and Marcia Mahoney and husband, Carl, Hutchinson; seven grandchildren, Ed Stewart and wife, Karen, Don Stewart and wife, Melanie, Scott Stewart and wife, Stephanie, Susan Birket, Kathy Bruce and husband, Andy, James Birket and Jenny Johnson and husband, Chris; and eight great-grandchildren, Stephanie and Kristie, Zack and John Henry, Shelby and Sydnie and Madison and Ashlyn.
She was preceded in death by a son, Charlie; and a brother, Carl Hipp.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Crossroads Christian Church, Hutchinson, with Pastors Todd Sinclair and Wayne Pittman presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday with the family present from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Burial will be in Abbyville Cemetery.
