Ruth Brady, 87, died Feb. 28, 2007, at Thorne Care Center at Wesley Towers, Hutchinson.
She was born Feb. 25, 1920, in Lyons, the daughter of Thomas Harvey and Grace Harriet Odell Rimmer. She graduated from Lyons High School in 1938, attended Bethany College, New Mexico Junior College and the University of New Mexico, Las Cruces. A resident of Hutchinson since 2000, formerly of Lyons, Hobbs and Las Cruces, N.M., she was a homemaker and an artist.
On July 13, 1940, she married Dr. Everett Wendell Pettit in Lyons. On April 8, 1976, she married Walter Harry Brady in Hobbs, N.M.
Survivors include: a grandson, Geoffrey Brown, Long Beach, Miss.; three granddaughters, Miriam Lane, Hutchinson, Jessika Junker and Arishaunda Campbell, both of Albuquerque, N.M.; a grandson-in-law, Calvin Pond, Hutchinson; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband; her second husband; a son, Dr. Thomas Barton Pettit; daughter and son-in-law, Suzanne and Dean Brown; granddaughter, Tamara L. Pond; a brother, Harvey Rimmer; and a sister, Clara Elliott.
Memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Wesley Towers Conference Room, Hutchinson, with Chaplin Art Maddock presiding. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Cremation has taken place.
