Ruth Frias, 94, died March 22, 2012, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. She was born Nov. 28, 1917, in Ness City, to Francisco and Maria DeJesus Rivera Olivarez. Ruth was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, the Altar Society, Perpetual Adoration and My Friends Club.
On July 6, 1935, she married Delfino Frias in Dodge City. He died June 12, 1994. Survivors include: daughter, Sally Viegra and husband Alexander of South Hutchinson; four grandchildren, Valerie Reeves and husband Tim of Nashua, NH, Rosalyn McGillivray of Hutchinson, Elizabeth Dauber and husband Troy of Hutchinson, and David Viegra of Hutchinson; seven great-grandchildren, Emily and Benjamin Wangler, Ashley Reeves, Julie and Jason Herrman, Travis and Bret Collins; two great great-grandchildren, Rowan and Logan Wangler. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Antonio Olivarez; sisters, Maria Munoz, Manuela Guerrero, Elvira Cervantez, Beatriz Fructoz, and Josefina Mesa.
Parish Rosary will be 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 27, 2012, at the Elliott Mortuary Chapel, with Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, with Father Brian Nelson and Father Nicholas Voelker officiating. Burial will be in Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday and Tuesday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church or Hospice of Reno County, in care of the mortuary.
