Ruth M. Hook, 91, died Sept. 19, 2007, at Mennonite Manor.
She was born Oct. 9, 1915, in Turon, the daughter of John Henry and Mary Alice Rose Jones. She was a Sylvia resident most of her life before moving to South Hutchinson. She was a homemaker and had been an Avon representative.
She belonged to Walnut and Campbell Church of Christ, volunteered for the Home Extension Unit, and the Retired Senior Volunteer Program.
On Oct. 29, 1932, she married William Howard Brown. He died Feb. 25, 1975. On July 20, 1978, she married Arthur Hook in Ottawa. He died in 1998.
Survivors include: two daughters, Alice Neufeld, South Hutchinson, and Nina Owens, Bronson, Fla.; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Bill Jones; and two sisters, Oma Osborn and Edna Waters.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Elliott Mortuary Chapel, Hutchinson with Pastor Mike McGovney presiding. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. to service time Friday, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
