Ruth Evelyn Huffman, 98, of Hutchinson, died December 11, 2020, at Diversicare of Hutchinson. She was born May 24, 1922, in McKracken, to James and Ina (Fitzgerald) Brenner.

Ruth graduated from LaCrosse High School followed by Salt City Business College. She worked for Koeppen Electric and the City of Hutchinson as a secretary and treasurer. Ruth belonged to the Altar Society at Church of the Holy Cross, Hutchinson, where she was a member.

On October 9, 1943, she married Herman Koeppen, in Russell. He passed away on January 22, 1964. On March 3, 1978, Ruth was married to Verling Huffman, in Hutchinson. He passed away on August 15, 2007.

She is survived by: sons, Norman Koeppen (Pat), Canon City, CO, and Donald Koeppen, Hutchinson; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Ruth was preceded in death by: her parents; husbands, Herman Koeppen and Verling Huffman; brother, Earl Brenner; and sister, Marie Brack.

Cremation has taken place. Graveside service will be 11:30 a.m. Thursday, March 18, 2021, at Memorial Park Cemetery, with Father Aaron Spexarth officiating.  Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Wednesday at Elliott Mortuary.
