Ruth Irene Leeper, 91, died Jan. 15, 2013, Hutchinson Regional Medical Center.
She was born May 20, 1921, to Fred Leonard and Adelia Lovicia Holland Brown in Garnett, Kan.
She was a 1939 graduate of Hutchinson High School.
On April 27, 1956, she married Erwin Edward Leeper in McPherson, Kan. He survives.
She worked at Bond Bakers, Risley's IGA, and Jack & Jill as a baker. She was also an accomplished musician.
Other survivors include: son, David Leeper of Alabama; daughters, Barbara Warren and husband Glenn of Nowata, Okla., Reverend Nancy Proffitt of Oberlin, Kan.; sister, Esther McQuery of Kansas City, Kan.; 10 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, 31 great great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Shirley Fred King; five brothers; and two sisters.
Funeral service will be 1:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 18, 2013, at South Hutchinson United Methodist Church, South Hutchinson, with Reverend Warren Hett presiding. Burial will follow in Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson. Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
