Ruth Ann Pearson's Obituary
Ruth Ann Pearson, 72, passed away at her home in Hutchinson on Sunday, June 17, 2018. She was born Ruth Ann Baab on July 27, 1945, in Greeley, Colorado, to Robert and Dorothy Baab.
Ruth Ann earned education degrees from the University of Northern Colorado (BA 1967) and Wichita State University (MA 2004). She taught elementary age children for 34 years in school districts in Colorado, Texas and Kansas. Ruth Ann especially enjoyed teaching music at Morgan Elementary in Hutchinson. She retired in 2008.
She married Wayne Arnold Pearson on June 11, 1968. She is survived by: her husband of 50 years, Wayne; sons, Matthew (Juliana) and Robert (Elisabeth); brothers, David Baab and John Baab (Yvonne); sister, Roberta Hohman (Glenn); grandchildren, Mallorie, Ethan, Abigail and Claire; and numerous nieces and nephews. Ruth Ann was preceded in death by her parents and sister-in-law, Joan Baab.
Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 22, 2018, at Westside Baptist Church, 400 W. 12th Ave., Hutchinson, with Pastor Tim Adrian officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., with family present from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, at Elliott Mortuary.
Memorials are suggested to the Mission Fund at Westside Baptist Church, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
