Ruth Leona Stiggins died October 27, 2023, at Thorne Care Center, Hutchinson, at the age of 96. She was born on Mother's Day, Sunday, May 8, 1927, at the family farm home, southwest of Arlington, to Henry E and Ines Vivian (Miller) Ravens.

Ruth attended Pleasant Valley Country Grade School and was a 1944 graduate of Arlington High School. In 1947, she married CPO Albert Pittman Jr.  and travelled with him in his tour of duty at many Navy bases. On September 23, 1960, Ruth married Charles W. Stiggins in Wichita, KS. He died December 23, 1988.

A resident of Hutchinson since 1955, she was a member of First Church of the Nazarene and Heart of Kansas Quilt Guild. Ruth was employed as a bookkeeper and clerical worker. Volunteering kept her busy after Charles died. She loved to travel, garden, play the piano, quilt, and her church.

Ruth was preceded in death by: parents; both husbands; infant son, Allen Dale Pittman; brothers, Chester, Floyd, Paul, and Robert.

Survivors include: son, Curtis Stiggins, Newton; daughters, Karin (Malcom) Gillette, Hutchinson, Diane Miller, Fayetteville, AR; brother, Glen (Charlene) Ravens, Tulsa, OK; grandchildren, Jeremy Stiggins, McPherson, Carol (Andy) Cooper, Maize, Jessica Miller, Lawerence, Jennifer Miller, Fayetteville, AR and Melissa (Lindsey) Lawrence, Gravette, AR; eight great grandchildren; two nieces and a nephew.

Funeral will be 10:00 AM, Tuesday, October 31, 2023, at Elliott Mortuary. Private burial will take place in Lerado Cemetery. Those wishing to view the service online can find a link to the live stream in Ruth's obituary on the Elliott Mortuary website.
