Ruth Elizabeth Troyer, 92, passed into the loving arms of her heavenly father surrounded by her family on June 13, 2015, at Sunshine Meadows Retirement Community, Buhler. She was born February 21, 1923, in rural Reno County, to Will and Mattie (Yutzy) Yoder.

On March 25, 1945, she married Harry Allen Troyer on the family farm near Yoder. Ruth enjoyed being a farm wife and was a loving, Christian, mother who taught her children to love the Lord. She spent many hours praying for her family and friends. Gardening, quilting, and cooking were just a few of her favorite things. Later, she went on to work as a cook at Central Christian School for several years.

Survivors include: husband, Harry, Buhler; daughters, Verda Rempel and husband Darriel, Sun City West, Ariz., Mary Lawson and husband Paul, Hutchinson, and Vicki Kauffman and husband Dale, Haven; a son-in-law, Steve Sears, Hutchinson; eight grandchildren; and 11 great–grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Vera Sears, brothers, Orie, and Rufus Yoder, and an infant sister.

Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday, at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson, with the family to receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. A private family service will take place at a later date. Burial will be in Yoder Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Sunshine Meadows Retirement Community, or to Good Shepherd Hospice, both in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 North Main, Hutchinson, KS, 67501. The family extends their gratefulness for the excellent care their mother received from the staff at Sunshine Meadows Retirement Community and Good Shepherd Hospice.
