Ruthe Elaine Baugh, 58, died Nov. 9, 2006, at Hutchinson Hospital.
She was born Aug. 24, 1948, in Hutchinson, the daughter of Harold and Phyllis Lee Baugh. She graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1966 and graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree from Virginia State. A lifetime Hutchinson resident, she was a correctional officer for Hutchinson Correctional Facility, Hutchinson police dispatcher, lieutenant and captain with the Federal Bureau of Prisons in Fort Lee, Va., Manhattan, N.Y., Dallas-Fort Worth, and College Station, Texas, Panama City, Fla., and was an over-the-road truck driver with her beloved dog, Faith Marie, by her side.
She belonged to the Methodist faith.
Survivors include: a son, Todd, Kansas City, Mo.; a daughter, Leslie Baugh, Hutchinson; three brothers, Randall and Roger, both of Hutchinson, and Roderick, Apache Junction, Ariz.; a sister, Roxana Miller, Hutchinson; two grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson, with the Rev. William J. Green Sr. presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m.
