Obituary

Sam Lee, 89, died Friday, Oct. 3, 2014. He was born July 9, 1925, in Dublin, Ga., the son of William and Mary (Grace) Lee.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, an Army veteran serving during World War II and had worked for Betts Bakery for 35 years as a foreman, retiring in 1981. Two of his favorite hobbies were gardening and fishing.

On March 2, 1945, he married Charlene G. Klatt in Hutchinson. She survives.

Also surviving are: a daughter, Connie Kleinherenbrink and husband R.J., of Hutchinson; five grandchildren, Wendi Penner, Heather White and husband Greg, Cori Miller, Sam Kleinherenbrink, and Emmie Kleinherenbrink; and eight great-grandchildren, Taylor Hildebrand, Raegan Hildebrand, Breckyn Penner, Greyden Penner, Hunter Rodriguez, Morgan White, Lindsey Pinkham, and Abby Pinkham.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter and her husband, Judi and Jim Fesler, a brother, Jerry Lee, and two childhood sisters, Mynah and Myrtle Lee.

Graveside service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2014, in Fairlawn Cemetery, Hutchinson, with the Rev. Jeff Slater presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday and Tuesday with family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Hutchinson Animal Shelter, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main St., Hutchinson, KS 67501.
