Sandra M. Pitts, 71, of Hutchinson, died June 5, 2010, at Hospice House in Hutchinson. She was born Dec. 30, 1938, in Hutchinson, the daughter of Merle and Barbara Gensch Guinn. She attended Hutchinson schools and was a lifelong Hutchinson resident. She was an avid gardener, a former member of the Loyal Order of Moose #82 and the Hutchinson Community College Quarterback Club, and she regularly attended HCC football and basketball games. She was a retired Surgery Tech at Hutchinson Hospital.


She married Claude C. Flournoy in Hutchinson in 1984. He died July 21, 1997. She later married Charles Pitts on Nov. 24, 1999, in Hutchinson. He survives. Other survivors include: sons, David Darling and wife Jill, Bella Vista, Ark., Dallas Darling and wife Beverly, Alice, TX, Duane Darling and wife Sherri, Cheney; step-son, Rick Pitts and wife Dalaine, Hutchinson; step-daughters, Claudia Wendel and husband Tom, Brenda Tiedtke, Nonie Gehring and husband Dwight, all of Hutchinson, Jan Caspar and husband Leo, Scott City, and Rhonda Crissman and husband Ken, Troutman, N.C.; 17 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by: her parents; an infant daughter, Debra Darling; a grandson, Skiler Darling; and her step-father, George V. Kelly.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 8, 2010, at Elliott Mortuary. Burial will be in Fairlawn Burial Park. A visitation will be 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday and the family will greet friends 7 to 8 p.m. on Monday, all at Elliott's.
