Sandra Theresa Thomas' Obituary
Sandra Theresa "Grandma Sandra" Thomas, 60, died Sept. 13, 2008, at the Good Samaritan Center, Hutchinson.
She was born Feb. 8, 1948, in Bay St. Louis, Miss., the daughter of Edward John and Daisy Theresa Tolbert Bell, Jr. She graduated from Valena C. Jones High School, Bay St. Louis, Miss., and attended Business College in Cincinnati, Ohio. A resident of Hutchinson since 1974, moving from Mississippi, she was an inspector for Hartman Foundry.
She belonged to the Second Missionary Baptist Church and the church choir.
Survivors include: three sons, Ernest Bell and Marquis Hubbard, both of Hutchinson, and Brandon Hubbard, Lawrence; a daughter, Vanessa Hubbard, Hutchinson; her mother, Daisy Bell, Bay St. Louis, Miss.; three brothers, Saunders, Bay St. Louis, Miss., Sullivan, Picayune, Miss., and Sterling, New Orleans; four sisters, Sharon McGowan, Bay St. Louis, Miss., Stephen Washington and Schewander Jones, both of Hutchinson, and Shellereen Hollins, Pass Christian, Miss.; and eight grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, a brother, Sidney Bell, and grandparents, Edward John Bell, Sr., Lucy Bell, Blain Tolbert and Velma Clegette.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Second Missionary Baptist Church, Hutchinson, with the Rev. W.C. Tillman presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today and Wednesday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Burial will be in Fairlawn Burial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Sandra T. Thomas Memorial Fund in care of the mortuary.
