Obituary

Sharon Floy Breneman, 85, died January 10, 2026, at Hester Care- The Wesley.  She was born May 17, 1940, to Roy and Floy Gorsuch Breneman in Portage, Wisconsin.

Sharon graduated from Pardeeville (WI) High School in 1958, Calvary Bible College with a bachelor's in Christian Education in 1962, Sterling College with a bachelor's in Education in 1964, and Emporia State University with a master's in Special Education in 1966.  She taught for 33 years in Hutchinson Public Schools.

Sharon taught VBS with the Wisconsin Rural Bible Crusade (RBC) for several summers.  She had attended RBC Bible schools as a child at Crescent Lake, WI. It was there Sharon accepted Jesus as her Savior.  She later was a counselor for many summers.  She also was a counselor at Camp Cherith in ME and Meadowbrook Camp in PA.

Sharon enjoyed photography, gardening, cooking, camping and traveling.  She made it to all 50 states as well as 17 countries! She was a member of Countryside Baptist Church, Delta Kappa Gamma, HARSPA, Christian Women's Club and Bible Study Fellowship.  Sharon served on two mission trips to Kodiak, AK.

She is survived by her: sister, Beth (Keith) Hines, MN; brothers, Douglas (Rose) and Richard (Sandy) Breneman, WI; nieces, Wendy (Scott) Iversen, Becky (Geron) Schramske, Valori (Rich) Ellett, Julie Breneman; nephews, Brian (Nicole) Hines, Tim Breneman, Blake Breneman, Matthew (Kelly) Breneman; and numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews.

Sharon was preceded in death by her: parents; grandparents; nephew, Greg Breneman; and friend, Mary Gillis.

Funeral service will be 11 am Thursday, January 15, 2026, at Elliott Chapel with Rev. Cliff Kirk and Rev. Dr. Dan Price officiating.  The family will greet one hour prior to the service.
