Sharon Kay Hendrix, 78, of Hutchinson, died March 26, 2020, at Reflection Living, Hutchinson. She was born February 5, 1942, in Bloomfield, Nebraska, to Arthur and Cassie (Eggen) Ziegler.
Sharon graduated from Center High School in Nebraska in 1960. She ran a daycare from her home and also prepared food for the Garden City public schools. In 1974 Sharon and her husband, Larry, moved to Garden City, where they became very involved in the community. In 2006 they moved to Hutchinson to be closer to their grandchildren. Sharon's favorite past times were watching pro basketball on TV and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also loved to cook and bake for her friends and family.
On April 10, 1965, Sharon married Larry Hendrix in Bloomfield, NE. They shared 20 years together before he died on August 1, 1985.
She is survived by: daughter, Stacy (Brian) Holmes, Hutchinson; son, Mike Hendrix, Wichita; granddaughter, Maranda Holmes, Great Bend; grandsons, Michael (Sierra), Eli, and Isaiah Holmes, all of Hutchinson; granddaughter, Taylor Finch, Hutchinson; great grandchildren, Zolie Holmes-Diaz, Brian and Lizzy Holmes, and Aubrey Holmes, all of Hutchinson; brother, L.A. Ziegler, Washington; brother, Jerry Ziegler, Bloomfield, NE; and sister, Ebby Ziegler, Sioux Falls, SD.
Sharon was preceded in death by: her parents, husband, Larry Hendrix; daughter, Alicia Hendrix; grandson, Joshua Holmes; granddaughter, Kayla Holmes-Diaz; grandson-in-law, Victor Diaz; sisters, Patricia Erbst, Jean Schmeckpeper, Caryl Mach, and Marilyn Hazelwood; and brothers, Darrell Ziegler, Bob Ziegler, and Vernon Ziegler.
Memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 10, 2020, at First Trinity Lutheran Church, Bloomfield, Nebraska, with Reverend Jacob Bobby officiating. Burial will follow at Bloomfield Cemetery.
