Obituary

Sharon 'Sheri' Kay Showalter, 75, passed away November 8, 2020, at Hospice House, Hutchinson.  She was born December 19, 1944, in Hutchinson, to Frederick Mitchell and Edna Mae (Rizor) Jennings.

Sheri was a 1962 graduate of Hutchinson High School, and was a paraprofessional at Prairie Hills Middle School, retiring after 34 years of service.  She enjoyed crafting, sewing, painting, and cooking.

On March 23, 1963, Sheri and Ray Leon Showalter eloped, and were married in Pratt.  She and Ray began dating when she was fifteen years old, and they shared over 57 years of marriage.

She is survived by:  husband, Ray Showalter of Hutchinson; son, Scott (Carol) Showalter of Abilene, TX; and grandchildren, Nicholas Ian Showalter, Kaitlin Marie Showalter, Zachary Allen Showalter, and Allison Elizabeth Showalter.

Sheri was preceded in death by:  her parents; son, Stuart Ray Showalter; and brother, Frederick Lynn Jennings.

Cremation has taken place and no services are planned.  Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, November 16, 2020, through Saturday, November 21, 2020, at Elliott Mortuary.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Hospice House of Reno County, in care of Elliott Mortuary and Crematory, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
