Sharon Diane Moran, 74, passed away September 3, 2026, at her home in South Hutchinson. She was born August 14, 1952, in Meade, KS, to Carl Jacob and Dorothy Ealeanor (Steinke) Gerber.
In 1970, Sharon graduated from Fowler High School in Fowler, Kansas. She continued her education at Salt City Business College in Hutchinson. Sharon dedicated much of her professional life to serving as the secretary for the South Hutchinson Elementary School food service, where she was a valued member of the staff for many years, before retiring in 2014.
On December 28, 1974, she married Miachel V. Moran, in Hutchinson. They shared over 29 years of marriage, prior to his death on September 28, 2004.
In her spare time, Sharon enjoyed baking, gardening, and solving puzzles. She especially treasured the time she shared with her family and friends. Her greatest joy, however, came from being with her grandchildren, whom she loved dearly. Sharon was known for her kind heart and positive outlook on life. She had a special way of encouraging those around her and often sent thoughtful, uplifting messages to her family, always reminding them to stay positive and cherish each day.
Sharon was also a woman of strong faith who found great comfort and joy in her relationship with God. She was a devoted member of Our Lady of Guadalupe, where she avidly attended church for many years.
Sharon is survived by: her children, Nicholas (Megan) Moran, Jake (Wendy) Moran, Joe (Robin) Moran and Molly (Tyson) McHenry; grandchildren, Cody, Jace, Hannah, Connor, Mike, Logan, Grace, Merlin, Calliope, Lumen, Alastair, Josie, and William; sister, Carla Bartlett; and brother, Jerry Gerber.
She was preceded in death by: her husband, Mike Moran; parents Carl and Dorothy Gerber; brothers, Jay and Jon Gerber; and granddaughter, Hannah McHenry.
Parish rosary will be 10:00 a.m., followed by mass of Christian burial at 10:30 a.m. both on Thursday, September 10, 2026, at Our Lady of Guadalupe, 612 S. Maple St. South Hutchinson. Inurnment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson. Friends may sign her memorial book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. starting Tuesday, September 8, 2026 until day of the service at Elliott Mortuary.
In lieu of flowers, memorial are suggested to the donor’s choice, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main. Hutchinson, KS 67501.
