Shawn M. Terwey Battiste, 37, died Nov. 18, 2006, at her home.
She was born Feb. 27, 1969, in Cloquet, Minn., the daughter of Dennis J. and Diane M. Flake Terwey. She graduated from Buhler High School in 1987. A resident of Hutchinson, moving to Newton in the last six months, she was a CNA at Presbyterian Manor, Newton.
She belonged to Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church.
In October 1998, she married Darrin Battiste.
Survivors include: two daughters, Tanesha Terwey, Hutchinson, and Da'Shawn Battiste, Junction City; a son, Darrin Battiste Jr., Junction City; her father, Hutchinson; a sister, Gwendolyn Diane Terwey, Hutchinson; grandparents, Elizabeth Terwey, Hutchinson, and Jim and Delores Cooper, Clouquet, Minn.; and nieces and nephews, Christopher Wilson, Ashley Wilson, Briannah Terwey and Kyleah Wilson.
She was preceded in death by her mother; and grandfathers, Clem Terwey and Carroll Flake.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, with the Rev. William J. Green presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorials may be sent to the Children's Education Fund, in care of the funeral home.
