Sheldon Wade Martin, 31, died Nov. 17, 2013, in a canoeing accident at Cheney Reservoir. He was born May 12, 1982, in Ephrata, Pa., the oldest son of Grant and Judy Martin.

He married Louisa Carol Schmucker on July 24, 2010, in Yoder, Kan.

Sheldon was a member of Cedar Crest Amish Mennonite Church and worked at Sanford's ComputerWorks and Martin Window Washing. He followed Jesus and devoted his life to service. He had a warrior's heart and was known for his kindness to his wife and all the children who admired him.

He is survived by his wife, Louisa Carol (Schmucker) Martin of Hutchinson; parents, Grant and Judy Martin of Newville, Pa.; brothers, Randal and wife Judy and son Michael of Clarkrange, Tenn., Anthony and wife Amy of Shippensburg, Pa., Adrian and wife Angela of Shippensburg, Pa.; and sister, Sheila of Newville, Pa.

The service to celebrate his life and worship Jesus will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 23, 2013, at Cedar Crest Amish Mennonite Church, 7213 W. Mills Ave., Hutchinson, with Pastor Lee Nisly officiating. Burial will be in West Center Cemetery, Hutchinson. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the church.
