Sherman Dale Gunn, 79, of Hutchinson, died January4, 2020, at Wesley MedicalCenter, Wichita. He was born August 8, 1940, in Hutchinson, to Roland Sherman and Evelyn Arlene (Hassler) Gunn.

Sherman was a 1958 graduate of Hutchinson High School, a 1962 graduate of the University of North Texas, and a 1976 graduate of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. He served in the United States Army and was a member of the Air Force Musicians Association.

On July 12, 1986, he married Suzanne Marian Haynes in Las Vegas, NV. They shared over 33 years of marriage until his death.

Sherman is survived by: wife, Suzanne Gunn of Hutchinson; daughter, Dorry Gunn of Firestone, CO; sons, Dale Gunn of Yoder, and Greg Gunn of Johnstown, CO; sister, Annette (Lonny) McCurdy of Wichita; and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday, January 11, 2020, at Elliott Mortuary, with Pastor Jeff Hunt officiating. A private family inurnment service will be at Memorial Park Cemetery, with military honors conducted by Ft. Riley Honor Guard. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday and Friday and until service time on Saturday at Elliott Mortuary.
