Shirley Leigh Sparr Dalton, 77, died at Hutchinson Hospital, Hutchinson.
She was born Oct. 8, 1929, in rural Clearwater, the daughter of Sidney Leigh and Gladys Mae Latta Sparr. She attended grade school at a country school in Murdock. She graduated from Mt. Carmel Academy in Wichita, from WU-Wichita University and St. Francis School of Medical Technology ASCP. A longtime resident of Hutchinson, she was owner of Downhome Antiques and a former real estate agent and medical technician ASCP.
She belonged to St. Teresa's Catholic Church, Hutchinson.
Survivors include: a son, John and wife, Michelle, Murdock; a daughter, Susan Violand and husband, Bernard, St. Louis, Mo.; and four grandchildren, Sarah and Jessie Violand and Sydney and Jack Dalton.
Rosary will be at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Elliott Mortuary Chapel, Hutchinson. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Teresa's Catholic Church, Hutchinson, with Father Stuart M. Smeltzer presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the mortuary. The casket will remain closed. Burial will be in Vinita Cemetery, Kingman County.
