Shirley Ann Dierks, 87, died June 22, 2023, in Hutchinson. She was born October 21, 1935, in Barnsdall, Oklahoma, to Wilce and Ollie (Wilson) Spence.

Shirley was a homemaker as her children grew up and later did cleaning in homes and at the Lutheran school and church in Haven. She was a member of Bethany Nazarene Church in Hutchinson. Shirley loved to dance in her younger years and would often go with her husband, Ron. She also enjoyed going on walks and bike rides. Recently, Shirley became a fan of watching basketball and Steph Curry was her favorite player.

In April 1969, she married Ronald Dierks, in Hutchinson. They shared 54 years of marriage together.

Shirley is survived by: husband, Ron, Hutchinson; daughter, Linda Thornburg (Jeff), Hutchinson; sons, Mark Hill (Jo), Hutchinson, Ron Allen Dierks, Hutchinson; grandchildren, Kyle Miller, Andrea Faulkner, Lacy Miller, Barbara Fallis, Amy Shull, Shelby Shull; 16 great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; and sister, Darlene Barkley, South Hutchinson.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; son, Larry Hill; siblings, Albert Spence, Alma Hicks, Hazel Garrett, Esther Anthony, Jeri Impson, and Wilma King.

Graveside service will be 11 am Thursday, June 29, 2023, at Fairlawn Burial Park. Friends may call from 9 am to 8 pm Wednesday at Elliott Mortuary.
