GENESEO - Shirley Lorraine Emmons, 75, entered her earthly life on Sept. 14, 1934, to Bryon and Helen Gray in Quenemo, Kan. She left her earthly life on May 1, 2010, to have tea with the angels.
Mom was first and foremost a homemaker. She retired from Fuller Brush in Great Bend.
She is survived by sons: William (Judy), Derby, Brian (LeeAnn), Ellsworth; daughters, Katherine Emmons, Lyons, Marie Ranker (Randy), Ellsworth, Carla Mick, Larned; 10 grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; mother, Helen Gray, Geneseo; brothers, Curtis (Patsy), Marble Falls, Texas, and Frank (DeeAnn), Beaver, Okla. She was preceded in death by a son, James Emmons; father, Bryon Gray; and brother, Duane Gray.
Celebration of life will be held at Workman's Park in Lyons at 1 p.m. on May 8, 2010, for family and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Brain Tumor Association or Hospice House, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
