Shirley A. Goodman, 88, died Nov. 20, 2010, at Thorne Care Center at Wesley Towers, Hutchinson. She was born Jan. 24, 1922, in Cambridge, Mass., to Samuel and Blanche L. Pearlstein Hootstein. She was a longtime Boston area resident, moving to Hutchinson in June of 2008. Shirley graduated from Brookline High School in Brookline, Mass. She was a homemaker and a member of the Sisterhood and Hadassah at Temple Bethel in Lowell, Mass.


On June 12, 1947, she married Harry E. Goodman in Brookline. He died June 4, 1973. Survivors include: three sons, Dr. Mark Goodman and his wife June, Hutchinson, Dr. Robert Goodman and his wife Joan, Cold Spring Harbor, N.Y. and Kenneth Goodman and wife Deb, Redding, Pa.; and seven grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Doris Freeman, and a granddaughter, Jennifer Goodman.
