Shirley A. Henry, 80, died April 8, 2016, at Hospice House. She was born Jan. 22, 1936, in Hutchinson, to Andy and Mid (Arnold) Clifford.
Shirley graduated from Nickerson High School in 1955 and later obtained her real estate and insurance licenses. She was a homemaker, real estate and insurance agent. Shirley was a very active member of Grace Episcopal Church, where she was part of the Altar Guild and taught Sunday School. Her family recalls she was a loving mother, caring person, and an excellent cook.
On March 13, 1955, she married Harold Henry in Hutchinson. Together they shared 61 years of marriage. Shirley is survived by: husband, Harold of the home; sons, Kirk Henry and wife Jean of Eaton, CO and Rod Henry of Hutchinson; grandchildren, Nathan, Olivia, Andy, Joe, Donna, Rodney; 12 great-grandchildren; sister, Kathi Wells and husband Alan of Hutchinson; brother, Jim Clifford and wife Jan of Hutchinson.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Dick Clifford.
Friends may call 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday with family to receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary. Funeral service 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Grace Episcopal Church, 2 Hyde Park Dr., with the Reverend Dr. J. Ted Blakley officiating. Private family inurnment will take place.
