Shirley Ruth Montandon, 72, died Oct. 6, 2016, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. She was born June 5, 1944, in Harrison, Ark., to William D. and Marguerite Mae (Millert) Fox.

Shirley graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1962. She worked at Hutchinson National Bank in the trust department and retired as an office assistant for Wright C.P.A. Shirley never knew a stranger. She enjoyed watching game shows, playing board games, and was active at the Delos V. Smith Senior Citizens Center, where she played bingo, Bunco, participated in line dancing, and made jewelry. Shirley was a member of 10th Avenue United Methodist Church.

On May 19, 1963, she married Ronald Lee Montandon in Hutchinson. They recently celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary. He survives.

Other survivors include: daughter, Rhonda Severin and husband Tom of Hutchinson; sons, Bill Montandon and wife Julie of Hutchinson, LTC Rick Montandon and wife Stacy of Virginia; grandchildren, Alyssa Montandon of Virginia, Kyle and Kristi Severin, Tyler, Mariah, Jaiden, Emily, Micah, and Mattie Montandon, all of Hutchinson; sisters, Evelyn Lively of Iowa, Maxine Propp and husband Robert of Texas, Betty Taylor and husband Dick of Wichita; sister-in-law, Joyce Allen of Texas; brother-in-law, Larry Montandon and wife Lynn of South Hutchinson; and numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins. She was preceded in death by: her parents; mother-in-law, Maxine Marsh; and brothers-in-law, Jim Lively and Bob Allen.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2016, at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, with Pastor Steve Hodgson and the Reverend Jim Swank officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday and Monday, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Elliott Chapel.
