Obituary

Shirley Ann Wenner, 74, died March 24, 2023, at Pleasant Hills Assisted Living. She was born July1, 1948, in Caldwell, to Everett and Dora Lacey.

Shirley graduated from Caldwell High School in 1966, and went on to attend Salt City Business College. She worked as an administrative assistant for USD 308 for 29 years. Shirley enjoyed cooking and baking, as well as crochet. More than anything, she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Shirley was also a member of CrossPoint Church.

On April 3, 1976, she married James G. Wenner, in Hutchinson. They shared 46 years together.

Shirley is survived by: her husband, James Wenner, Hutchinson; son, Shawn Wenner, Hutchinson; granddaughters, Kristen Weber (Matt), Lyons, Jessica Carpenter (Zach), McPherson; great-grandsons, Brooks Weber, Rowan Carpenter, Wells Carpenter, Luke Weber; and her siblings, Karen Baker (Robert), Hutchinson, Larry Lacey (Becky), Plainville.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; siblings, Robert Lacey (Sharon), Herbert Lacey (Carol), Al Lacey (Cheryl), and Don Lacey (Janice).

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 28, 2023, at Elliott Mortuary, burial will follow in Fairlawn Burial Park. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday with family present from 5 to 7 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary.
