Shirley A. Wilt, 78, died April 9, 2019, at her home. She was born October 3, 1940, on the family farm in Plevna, to Harold C. and Ruth M. (Rickett) Geist.

Shirley graduated from Plevna High School. She was a factory worker for various companies. Shirley loved watching and playing all sports, especially softball and basketball, and spending time with her dogs.

Shirley is survived by: children, Teresa Zimmerman of Plevna, Tracy Wilt (Dianne) of Abbyville, Tony Wilt (Colette) of Westville, Indiana; sister, Donna L. Covey (Gary) of Ulysses; grandchildren, Chad, Christopher, Charise, and Adam Zimmerman, Sarah Wilt (fiancé Bill Robbins), Katelynn, Alexander and Carly Wilt; and great-grandchildren, Allyson, Logan, Julia, and Ava Zimmerman, and another one to arrive late summer.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; brother, Ronald C. Geist; and son-in-law, Brad Zimmerman.

Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Friday, April 12, 2019, at Elliott Chapel, with Pastor Steve Gill officiating. Private family inurnment will take place at a later date in Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. until service time Friday at Elliott Mortuary. Memorials may be made to the Hutchinson Animal Shelter, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N.
