Shon C. Hammerschmidt, 37, died Nov. 17, 2007, at his home, Hesston.

He was born Sept. 7, 1970, the son of Robert S. and Diana M. Leach Hammerschmidt. He graduated in 1989 from Hutchinson High School and attended Wichita State University. He worked in lab production at Hospira, McPherson.

He was an Air Force veteran with 7 years of service, including two tours of duty in Operation Desert Storm.

He attended First Church of the Nazarene, Hutchinson.

Survivors include: three daughters, Tori, Kristen and Breanna Hammerschmidt, and their mother Shaunna Trail, all of Hutchinson; mother; father; step-mother, Lorene Hammerschmidt, all of Hutchinson; a brother Michael and wife, Alyssa, Marcellus, New York; and a sister, Sherri Jensen and husband, John, Hutchinson.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents.

Funeral will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Elliott Mortuary Chapel, with Pastor Darrell Bisel presiding. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Fairlawn Burial Park with special military services provided by McConnell Air Force Honors Team.
