Obituary

Stanley Harold "Stan" Hoefer, 83, died Oct. 1, 2016, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. He was born Oct. 27, 1932, in Hutchinson, the son of Harold and Mabel (Parks) Hoefer.

Stan graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1950 and served in the United States Army from 1953 to 1955. He worked at Scheufler Supply, which later became Big A Auto Parts, retiring as manager.

On Jan. 3, 1953, he married Betty Ann Lindblade in Hutchinson. She survives.

Other survivors include: daughter, Sandy Erickson and husband Don of Buhler; twin sons, Gary and wife Jane of Hutchinson, Greg of El Dorado; five grandchildren, Ryan Erickson and wife Becky, Paul Erickson and wife Tasha, Eric Hoefer, Thomas Hoefer and wife Sandra, Stacy Webb and husband Todd; and eight great-grandchildren, with two on the way. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother and sister-in-law, Ronald and Jackie Hoefer.

Cremation has taken place and at Stan's request, there will be no service. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday, with the family to receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 8, 2016, at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Military honors will be conducted at 2 p.m. at the visitation by the Fort Riley Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice House or the Hutchinson Public Library, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
