Stella Nelson Wilson passed away May 8, 2014, in Lewisville, Texas, to be with her beloved husband, Blenard Clarke Wilson. Stella was born Oct. 17, 1928, in Lyons, Kansas, to Lawrence and Celestine Gabrielson.

A longtime resident of Hutchinson, Kansas, Stella graduated from Hutchinson High School and earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Kansas, where she was a member of Chi Omega sorority. A writer and avid reader, Stella was active in her church and enjoyed watching and playing sports.

She is survived by: her sister, Janet Fernandez; her sons, Blenard (Butch) Wilson Jr., and Steve Wilson; three grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband.

Graveside service for Stella will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 21, 2014, in Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson, with Pastor Matt Stafford presiding. Elliott Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
