Steve Michael Mcwhirt's Obituary
Steve Michael McWhirt, 50, died May 23, 2007, at Via Christi Regional Medical Center, St. Francis Campus, Wichita, as the result of an automobile accident on May 8, 2007.
He was born Nov. 4, 1956, in Topeka, the son of John E. and Mary F. Stevens McWhirt. A resident of Hutchinson since February, moving from Las Vegas, he was employed by Team Employment as a woodworker, had been working at TECH, and had been a deputy for the Los Angeles Police Department.
He belonged to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Michelle Vezina was his wife. She survives.
Other survivors include: two stepsons, Jared Vezina, Nevada, and Marcus Vezina, Hutchinson; two stepdaughters, K.C. Clark and husband, Geoff, Indiana, and Carissa Vezina, Virginia; and a step-grandchild, Gage Clark.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, with Bishop Robert Thomas presiding. Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. Sunday and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Cremation will follow the services.
Memorials may be sent to the American Diabetes Association, in care of the funeral home.
