Stewart M. Bowersox, 57, died Feb. 24, 2010, at his home in Hutchinson. He was born Aug. 10, 1952, in Stafford, Kan., son of Richard B. and T. Ferne Miller Bowersox.

He was a longtime Hutchinson resident. He graduated from Norton High School in 1970 and Kansas State University in 1982. He belonged to First United Methodist Church, United Methodist Men through the church, and Singles Group at Trinity United Methodist Church. He was a huge K.S.U. fan and a regular at Fraese Drug Store. He enjoyed playing cards.

Survivors include: son Jaron Bowersox of Manhattan, Kan.; daughter Shaelee Mendenhall and husband Chad of Hutchinson; mother T. Ferne Bowersox of Hutchinson; brothers Scott of Dallas, Stephen of Derby, Kan.; sister Susan Fieser of Plains, Kan; one grandson Kai Mendenhall. He was preceded in death by his father.

Memorial service 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 27, 2010, at the First United Methodist Church in Hutchinson with Rev. Mark Conard officiating. There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. Friends may sign book 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at Elliott's Mortuary. Memorials may be made to American Diabetes Association in care of the mortuary.
