Obituary

Stuart Jay Reynolds, 71, died June 24, 2024, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center.  He was born August 13, 1952, in Hutchinson, to Harold Newlin and Lois A. (Brickey) Reynolds.

Stuart graduated from Hutchinson High School and attended Hutchinson Community College.  He attended the Climate Control Institute in Wichita and received a certificate for Air Conditioning-Heating-Refrigeration Mechanic.  Stuart passed the Block & Associates six hour standard examination for Mechanical Journeyman on May 18, 1996.  He was a self-employed landlord.  Stuart enjoyed acting in plays during high school and at HCC.  He enjoyed traveling, camping, fishing, cooking, and baking.  In addition, Stuart collected motorcycles, was a history buff, and enjoyed westerns, action, and military movies.

On July 28, 1990, he married Annie Elizabeth Besthorn, at Trinity United Methodist Church, Hutchinson.

Stuart is survived by:  wife, Annie Reynolds of Hutchinson; daughter, Michelle Reynolds-Estdale (Peter) of Newbury, England; son, Jason Reynolds of Hutchinson; sisters, Sheila Reynolds (Lowell Paul) of Lawrence and Diane Steadman (Larry) of Hutchinson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Rozlyn Reynolds.

Memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 30, 2024, at Elliott Chapel, with the Reverend Dr. Kim Biery officiating.  The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time on July 30th.  Friends may sign his book from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary.
