Susan Elizabeth Heer, 57, of Hutchinson, died June 7, 2017, at Swedish Medical Center in Denver, Colorado. She was born April 3, 1960, in Champaign Urbana, Illinois, to Charles and Shirley (Posey) Wilson. Susan graduated from Buhler High School in 1978 and Wichita State University in 1989. She worked as an Editor of Operational Procedures for the space shuttle programs at Kennedy Space Center in Florida and was an 'all-American girl.'

Susan was a remarkable human being with a patient, giving soul. She was a phenomenally compassionate, caring, supportive mother and a loyal, loving wife. Susan was empathetic, patient, and beautiful inside and out. Smart, sassy, and a fantastic sense of humor, she enjoyed long car rides with her beloved puppy companions, Lucy and Millie, and sitting on the porch. Susan loved crab legs, key lime pie, and Frito dinner!

On January 3, 2002, she married John Heer III, in Satellite Beach, Florida. He survives.

Other survivors include: daughters, Alexandria Ferry of Denver, Colorado, and Shayna Heer of Clearwater, Florida; son, John Heer IV of Satellite Beach, Florida; grandchildren, Shane and Mattilyn; mother, Shirley Wilson of Hutchinson; brothers, Charles Wilson Jr. (Gayle) and David Wilson, all of Hutchinson; nieces, Chelsea Barker (Ross), Emily Crupper (David), AnnMarie Wilson, Hilary Mayhew; and great-nieces, Arwyn and Cosette Barker.

She was preceded in death by her father.

Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 13, 2017, at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, with Pastor Tonya Ramer Wenger officiating. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday and Monday at Elliott Mortuary. Memorials may be made to Dillon Nature Center or the donor's choice, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N.
